Eco-systemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT)
Dynamic Interventions offers trauma-informed, community and family-based mental health services, utilizing a widely accepted evidence-based treatment model: Eco-systemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT). This model was deveoped by Dr. Marion Lindblad-Goldberg through The Philadelphia Child and Family Therapy Training Center. The goal of ESFT is to build and nurture family process and is designed to take place in the home and community settings. ESFT is a hands-on approach to tackling difficult life situations.
The ESFT therapist “joins” with the family to identify and understand the patterns that govern their interactions. By offering reframes, or another way to look at the problem, the therapist is able to encourage hope in seemingly hopeless situations. Therapists offer growth opportunities for families by bringing the pattern into the session and practicing new responses as a family. As families learn to use this new pattern, therapists work to connect them with resources in their community that will be a part of the "safety net" to ensure the family's changes continue. Throughout this process, paraprofessional staff team with the therapists to provide skill building and community linkage.
Dynamic Interventions has partnered directly with Dr. Marion Lindblad-Goldberg and The Philadelphia Child and Family Therapy Training Center to receive yearly training and clinical supervision in ESFT since 2010. This ongoing collaboration has enriched our use of this model.
